Creed 2 is that kind of film which gives as much as it takes. It offers a solid plot but without stellar execution. It provides heartwarming performances (particularly by Sylvester Stallone) and adrenaline-pumping action sequences (especially the final fight) which are spoiled by too much fan service and a more than ample amount of predictability.
Overall, veteran Rocky fans will love the nostalgia offered by Creed 2. But newbies to the Rocky series might not be as impressed by this sequel which falls short of its predecessor’s originality.
